Carbon Neutral Adelaide

The challenge of the Adelaide Climathon will be to make a tangible contribution to aspirations of the city to become ‘Climate Neutral’. The event will be supported by the South Australian State Government in collaboration with the University of Adelaide and will be organised and moderated by a team of students dedicated to sustainability. The State Government has nominated a number of themes to be of focus for the Climathon as follows:

1. Reducing food waste in the CBD,

2. Reducing packaging waste in the CBD (particularly coffee cups and plastic bottles),

3. Substantially increasing the uptake of green building options in the CBD, and

4. Increasing ridership of public transport.
