Unfortunately, our Ideathon is structured so that participants are expected to be fully committed to solve our challenges, which will require the whole day on November the 14th. Thus you can not register for joining the Ideathon just half a day.

Together we can make Carpi's and the world's fashion economy circular
Last century has seen Carpi as the birthplace of a flourishing ecosystem of small and medium companies that have made their way among the many challenges and opportunities of the Italian and international fashion economy.
The fashion industry has been one of the most significant manufacturing activities of our region and has brought jobs, wealth and pride to a great amount of people, making our district a leader in the textiles, knitwear and clothing sectors.
A turning point
But the world has come to a turning point, a new global crisis for which we hold responsibility. The fashion economy has increasingly turned into a "fast fashion global economy". In richest countries, garments frequently end up in landfills after being worn just a few times. Their lifespan has never been so short and, as if it is not enough, their quality is often so low that even recycling a few of their components is getting more and more difficult.
Besides, the current fashion economy is still relying too much on non-renewable resources. Synthetic fibers are produced from oil, fertilizers are required to grow cotton, chemicals are needed to dye and finish textiles. This is why, other than the great injustice and the extremely low wages that workers in this sector (more than 75 million in the world) often have to take, fashion is also linked to huge levels of greenhouse gas emissions and a comparable impact on climate change.
A better future
With our Climathon we want to raise our voices, gather our talents together and share our dreams and visions for a better future. We wish to see Carpi and many other Italian cities taking the lead of this revolution, in order to get to a circular and 100% sustainable fashion as soon as we can.
During our one-day-long Ideathon we will be supported by experts, startups and companies that are committed to change the way we think about fashion. Moving from design to responsabile communication and new business ideas we will imagine how to implement systemic innovations in the fashion industry and in society.
