The challenge

The Washington event focused on diverting durable goods—such as furniture and small appliances—from the waste stream and reintroducing them into the economy.

reFort is unique in that it functions on demand and picks up durable goods otherwise intended for disposal, and refurbishes and resells them at a lower cost to new tenants, with a focus on college and university residences.

What's next

reFort secured initial funding from the CSD Social Venture Fund this year.
