Ciudad de México: una megápoli que ya no respira

How to improve air quality in Mexico City?

In Mexico City, environmental contingencies are becoming a new normality, affecting the health of the entire population without distinction. In a city with more than 20 million people, this represents a major public health issue. Help us solve it!

Challenge description

Mexico City needs your support in finding a solution to its air pollution problem. This year we had an environmental contingency that lasted five days before anything was done about it. As of May 16 in Mexico City, out of the 136 days, we have only had nine days of clean air, while the other 125 have seen bad air quality.

But before looking for reactive solutions, we must focus on being proactive and aim at ensuring that the causes of environmental contingencies are not given in the first place. To this end, this year we propose to focus on seeking for ways to better manage the biodiversity and green areas in the city, as well as encouraging sustainable human behavior.

If you have other ideas, of course we want you to join us so that you can share them with the community.

Let's make Mexico City's air cleaner!

Challenge vision

We want to be able to see the famous volcanoes in the Valley of Mexico again without the infamous contamination layer being there. We also want to be able to do outdoor activities without the constant fear of breathing and developing diseases in the future. Help us achieve it!

Together we can make Mexico City and the world a better place to live

If you are looking for innovative solutions to Mexico City climate change problems... Come join us and be part of the global movement!
