Create a team and develop solutions for climate challenges put forward by the City of Graz, Land Steiermark, Holding Graz and Energie Graz about the future of micro climate, mobility, public transportation and photovoltaics

The Climathon in Graz will give you the opportunity to get involved and be a part of how your city changes in the future. Turn your vision into a solution by working with experts in your field of interest and find new ways of thinking. You can come with a preexisting idea or simply be part of a team that will have the chance to win prizes and further develop your idea after the climathon. There will be experts, mentors, drinks and food to support you through this 24 hour hackathon!

How can citizens contribute to social transformation for a climate friendly transport system?

Social changes are needed in order to stop climate change. Which social changes of the coming decades are relevant to the evolution of mobility? How can our transport system look like in 2050 in regards to climate protection?

How can efficient usage of renewable energy be ensured to reduce losses and the need for storage?

The usage and production of renewable energy should be better linked in order to be more efficient and strengthen the production of renewable energy in cities. How can residents be motivated to be more aware of the advantages of their home-generated renewable energy from the roof?

Public Transport becomes more and more important for cities. How could public transport look like in the future? Are there new ways of public transportation to be found? How can residents be motivated to use public transport on a daily basis?

Workshop: Business Model Canvas

Key questions that need to be answered to create a successful business model will be discussed. Participants will work in groups and will be guided by a mentor.

Participants will learn about financial planning. They will be provided with an overview of different funding options for environmentally friendly business startups.

Participants will learn to deliver an engaging and informative pitch when presenting their idea. The focus will be on structure, the WOW-moment and confidence when pitching.
