Improving air quality through waste management

One of the biggest environmental problems in Debrecen is the air pollution. During the heating season, the burning of solid fuels, green waste and garbage are more common, which has harmful effect on air quality. These problems can be solved with the involvement of the local population.

Our aim

Our aim is to reshape peopel's attitude to words recycling methods to weolrds selective waste collection.

Solution context

We want to achieve a long-term attitude. We believe that people are more motivated to pursue a cause if they know exactly what they are contributing to. Not only waste management but also cycling infrastructure can develop. Because plastic collected by humans can be used as a raw material for cycle paths.

 

Solution description

Once the test track for the bike path is completed, the public will be able to see through their own video and field visit the rebirth of the plastics they selectively collect. Similar to the existing paper collection, schools can be involved in plastic collection.

To finance this change of attitude, we rely on companies as CSR, the local government.
