Solution context

It is well known that employees in office buildings want to eat quickly and stressless. This the reason why, many employees choose to order food online to be delivered, buy salads /launch boxes to go, introducing into the office buildings and producing, in so doing, a large amount of waste every day. With our app, we want to avoid the introduction of disposable products into the office building, thereby reducing the total waste production output. 

Solution description

Our app offers every employee the ability to order their lunch meal one day in advance at the office canteen/restaurant and decide to eat it either in the cantine, in the office kitchen or at their own desk. In so doing, it is possible to avoid the introduction of any disposable products (i.e. plastic wraps/boxes) into the office buildings by using reusable/rewashable cutlery and plates (or lunch boxes) and to avoid food waste in the canteen/office restaurant. In order to motivate the employees to use the app, after every order they receive a loyalty point (with veggie and vegan meals more points can be earned) and after a certain amount of points (this has to be agreed upon by the app manager or by the employer), the employee receives a free meal and can start again the collection of points to get other free meals. After finalizing the purchase a pop-up window will show how much carbon dioxide has been saved by using it. In addition, the app gives you the opportunity of a "social calendar" in which you can check at what time your colleagues are going to eat and perhaps join them for lunch. The app is cheap to develop and can easily become an essential tool for more sustainable office buildings.
