New ideas of sustainable mobility to discover the province of Ferrara between sea, art and nature
One of the challenges for the near future is undoubtedly the extension of sustainable mobility issues to a number of areas, with tourism playing a central role among them.
The objective of this challenge will be to create a proposal to encourage travel by bus, waterway, bike-sharing, and pedestrian routes in the province, including through tourist wayfinding (e.g. from railway stations to the nearest major tourist hubs), i.e. the orientation and perception of spaces. The integration between the public transport system, based on the principles of intermodality, and tourist wayfinding contribute to increase the quality of liveability and the use of public spaces.
The challenge is therefore to promote sustainable tourist mobility, also through the use of tools such as totems, signage with key indications to promote sustainable mobility in the province of Ferrara, which also includes the use of technology and QR codes to provide more detailed and complete information to tourists. This will reconnect and patch up interrupted routes from the capital city to the delta and the coast.
