Challenge

Scotland aims to phase out fossil fuel transport by 2032, how can we ensure Glasgow City is ready for this? .

The Scottish Government has recently announced that they want Scotland to phase out fossil fuel free by 2032. How does Glasgow as a city get ready to become fossil fuel free ahead of 2032 and help achieve the national vision, while also solving the main issues affecting the city today?

This bold ambition provides an opportunity to harness innovative ideas and pioneer low carbon solutions to:

- Improve air quality

- Reduce fuel poverty

- Eliminate health inequalities

- Promote sustainable economic growth

We'll be bringing together a diverse group of students, creatives, innovators and change-makers to collaborate to produce real outcomes for impact. We'll spend 12 hours together in a hackathon for the city, learning from experts and each other as we float ideas, work through options and come up with solutions to change the world, starting in Glasgow.

Glasgow's Climathon will take place from 0800-2000hrs on 27th October at the City of Glasgow College, City Campus, Innovation and Enterprise suite.

A full agenda will be provided and all refreshments will be included in the day, so come along and join in!
